Teacher Service Commission (TSC) published the names of Teachers who have been deregistered by the Commission from March 2023 to March 2024. As per the published document,209 names of pulled out Teachers were published of which the year 2023 had the highest number of Teachers being delisted than the year 2024.The activity was done according to section 30 of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Act 2012. As much the Education sector strives to get more Teachers employed in relation to Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) to ensure that there are enough Teachers in every institution of learning, the Commission delisted some Teachers based on the section 30 of TSC Act 2012 which gives reasons for Teachers employment.
Furthermore, Statistics from the document show that, the highest number of delisted Teachers was recorded in 2023.Where, the tallied number of teachers was 168 making it to 80.38% while in 2024 there were only 41 which forms 19.61% of Teachers being pulled out from the Commission in Month of March.
Additionally, in the month of August 2023 there was a sharp increase in the number of Teachers who were delisted with a total of 73 casualties from 36 in the Month of March forming 34.93% and 17.22% respectively whereas on September the number dropped to 13 leading to 6.22% and therefore, both the Month of October and November tying with 23 Teachers being pulled out creating 11.00% of the total number of deregistered Teachers.
Therefore, those teachers are not allowed to engage in teaching at any learning institution as per the published document. The affected Teachers might have disciplinary issues which caused them be deregistered from the commission according to section 30 of TSC Act 2012.
