Mathira Constituency Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua has vowed to work for the interests of Kenyans to among other things, ensure their standards of living are improved.
The MP said he will not let down his native Nyeri people once Kenya Kwanza Alliance coalition forms the next government where he will be the Deputy President.
Speaking in Nyeri County on Saturday when he hosted United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Presidential aspirant Dr William Ruto and other coalition leaders, Gachagua promised to deliver the elective posts up for grabs to the UDA party.

He said his government would uplift the living standards of citizens by addressing issues that bog their livelihood down.
Thousands of residents who attended the meetings vowed to support his bid and further thanked him for nominating one of their own to be the second in command.
Apart from the deputy president, other leaders who were on the tour included, Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi and Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party leader and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria. Members of Parliament Charles Jaguar (Starehe), Aisha Jumwa (Malindi), Gichuhi Mwangi (Tetu) and Kimani Ichung’wa (Kikuyu).
Nyeri County leaders and aspirants present included Governor Mutahi Kahiga, Speaker of the Nyeri County Assembly and Mukurwe-ini constituency MP aspirant John Kaguchia, Women Representative Rahab Mukami, Wahome Wamatinga (Senator), Wambugu Wainaina alias Mt Kenya (Othaya), Geoffrey Wandeto (Tetu), Eric Wamumbi (Mathira), Duncan Maina Mathenge (Nyeri Town) and dozens of current and aspiring Members of County Assembly.
Apart from UDA affiliated leaders, others present included Economist Peter Maina Munyiri who is contesting the Nyeri gubernatorial seat on CCK party, Jacinta Wahome who is contesting the Women Representative seat on The Service Party (TSP) ticket and Rose Waikundi who is also running for the women seat.
Also not left behind were members of Kenya Kwanza Nyeri chapter lobby group which was formed to consolidate votes for Dr Ruto and which is chaired by former Nyeri mayor Wanyaga Gathaka.
