IG Kanja Holds Consultative Security Meeting With National Police Service Commanders

The Inspector-General of the National Police Service (NPS), Mr. Douglas Kanja yesterday convened a consultative security meeting with NPS commanders from Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, and Machakos Counties at the Police Pavilion in Nairobi.
The meeting served as a forum for senior commanders to review the service’s preparedness, analyse emerging crime trends, and develop strategic solutions.
Mr. Kanja emphasised that the safety and security of all Kenyans; residents and visitors, particularly in Nairobi and its environs is of paramount importance.
He encouraged them to work closely together and share experiences to enhance their capacity to tackle emerging criminal activities within their jurisdictions.
Furthermore, he assured the commanders of unwavering support for officers who operate within the confines of the law.
The IG also expressed confidence in their ability to deliver on their mandate, urging them to combat crime decisively and enhance public safety and security.
In response, the commanders committed to upholding law and order within their jurisdictions.
Present at the meeting were the Deputy Inspector-General of the Kenya Police Service, Mr. Eliud Lagat; the Deputy Inspector-General of the Administration Police Service, Mr. Gilbert Masengeli; the Commandant of the General Service Unit, Mr. Ranson Lolmodooni, SAIG; the Director of Operations-KPS, Mr. Adamson Bungei, SAIG; the Director of Logistics – KPS, Mr. Peter Ndung’u, SAIG; the Director of Complaints and Inspection, APS, Mr. Aljir Hassan, AIG; the Director of Operations, DCI, Mr. Samson Kiptum, AIG; the Nairobi Regional Police Commander, Mr. George Seda, AIG; the Kiambu County Commander, Ms. Doris Kemey, AIG; the Nairobi AP Regional Commander, Mr. Peter Chemos, CP; the Kajiado County Commander, Mr. Alex Shikondi, CP; the Machakos County Commander, Ms. Monicah Kimani, CP; the Deputy Director of Corporate Communication,Ms. Dorothy Migarusha, CP; and other senior officers.
