A modern medical laboratory at Loglogo Health Centre in Marsabit County, Kenya, is set to improve access to quality health care for residents of Laisamis constituency.
The facility, constructed and equipped by Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP) and Z. Boskovic Air Charters, aims to provide curative, promotional, and preventive health services to local communities.
The facility was built and equipped at a cost of over Sh15 million as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) gesture by the company’s Wind of Change (WoC) foundation.
The Marsabit County Chief Officer for Health, Dr. Adan Alamin, praised the facility’s availability as a boost in health care provision and pledged to post the required medical personnel, including lab technologists, at the health centre.
The project was demand-driven and aimed at improving the livelihoods of the local community.
The facility will also offer room for research on chronic illnesses and diseases due to its modern scientific equipment.
