Moses Kuria, CS Designate, Ministry of Trade, Investments and Industry
By: John Kariuki

Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency and TradeMark East Africa engaged Hon. Moses Kuria, CS Designate, Ministry of Trade, Investments and Industry on three value chains that were identified and research on their market potential has been established. They are avocados, mangoes and vegetables.
We are looking at ways of expanding market access across the three value chains and establish means of value addition.

Avocados and Mangoes can be scaled up for value addition which will open up new markets. There is need to look at the challenges faced by farmers across the 3 value chains and come up with solutions to help them harvest more produce by looking at markets within AfCFTA with regional focus on DRC, Nigeria, Egypt, Tanzania and Uganda.
Hon. Moses Kuria stated that Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency should focus on export markets and he will mobilize counties for export supply.
He noted there is need to map every farmer on the 3 value chains; avocados, mangoes and vegetables to generate raw data on export products.
