Kenya Kwanza alliance principals at Kathwana stadium where senator Kindiki was absorbed into the alliance, shelving his gubernatorial bid

One day after Tharaka Nithi Senator professor Kithuure Kindiki shelved his ambitions for the top county job,his surpoters have started joining professor Njoka’s camp ahead of August polls.
Speaking at Tharaka University when they were being received by Njoka’s camp, Kindiki’s supporters said they have decided to join immediate former Chuka University Vice chancellor professor Erastus Njoka’s camp as his development track record shows he is a performer who can replace Kindiki in the county level.
Addressing members of press, Gitonga Kabugu said he has backed Kindiki for over 10 years in his county politics and it is time now he defects to Njoka’s camp since he will not be in local politics.
Kabugu lauded Kindiki’s appointment as one of the Kenya Kwanza alliance principals and said it is a proof that the senator has grown to national level.
“Senator Kindiki’s move to rise to national politics in Kenya kwanza alliance is an indication that our senator has grown politically for the two terms he has been on the power and it is time he represents us nationally,’’ Kabugu said.
Kiangara 3 an MCA aspirant from Gatunga ward also confirmed defection to the former VC’s camp so that they do not get wasted in the next five years like it is with the current regime.
He called upon other defectors to feel free to join Njoka and move the county forward.

Muriungi said as professionals they advise residents on good leaders who are capable of performing if elected.
He said Kindiki’s presence nationally will help the county have representation nationally and since Kindiki did not point anyone he has decided to lead the county towards Njoka’s faction.
“Kindiki in his declaration did not endorse any candidate for the gubernatorial contest and that is why as Kindiki’s personal friend I have decided to rally the community behind professor Njoka,’’ professor Muriungi said.
In the long awaited Kathwana declaration where senator Kindiki was expected to announce his next political move, deputy president William Ruto said Kindiki fits for national politics and asked him to leave gubernatorial contest for the likes of the incumbent governor Njuki.
The announcement came as a shocker to Kindiki surpoters who expected him to announce his bid for the top job to unseat Njuki.
As the county politics takes new turn now, Kindiki’s supporters will have to get another candidate to surpot following Kindiki’s withdrawal from the contest.
The big question remain whether Tharaka community will rally behind UDA party candidate who is the incumbent governor Njuki as fronted by Ruto, and who Kindiki has been castigating of underperformance and graft cases in the county.
