Kiunjuri, Ngirichi
The Service Party (TPS) party leader and former Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri confers with Kirinyaga County Women Representative Wangui Ngirichi during the burial of businessman Patrick Irungu Mukere at Muringato area near Nyeri town yesterday. The late Irungu was an in-law to Kiunjuri and a family friend to Ngirichi’s.
The two leaders called on Kenyans to hold peaceful campaigns as the election date nears. On his part, Kiunjuri who eyeing the Laikipia East parliamentary seat called on leaders seeking elective positions to tame their tongues when addressing the public, even as political temperatures rise.
He said leaders will be gauged not by how much vulgar they become, but the actions to took to better the lives of their constituents.
The former minister said election would come and go but the country would remain and hence there was no need of animosity during the electioneering period.
He called on leaders seeking various positions to put the interest of the country first.
