KTDA Foundation Brings Health To The Heart Of Kenya’s Tea Farmers
In a groundbreaking move to prioritize farmer wellbeing, the Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) Foundation launched a comprehensive medical outreach at Gathuthi Tea Factory yesterday.
The initiative, hosted at Wandumbi Dispensary, is part of KTDA’s renewed commitment to placing farmers at the centre of every decision under the mantra: “Farmer First, Leaving No Farmer Behind.”
Speaking at the launch, Ms. Catherine Mankura, Chair of the Health and Wellness Committee, said, “Leadership is service. Our farmers are not statistics—they are families, communities, and the backbone of our economy. Today, we bring healthcare to those who faithfully sustain our tea sector.”
The Foundation emphasized that sustainable agricultural development extends beyond production and bonuses; it must include systems that enhance community health and wellbeing.
Gathuthi Tea factory chairman Hosea Kimamo led the local officials in welcoming the Foundation team.
