Laikipia County governor Joshua Irungu yesterday held a consultative meeting with ranchers from the volatile Northern part of the county.
The governor, accompanied by senior officials met the ranchers from Laikipia North constituency where the issue of security was the main agenda.
The lengthy consultative meeting also covered issues like conservation of natural resources through helping the government in sensitising the local communities on importance of conserving the enviroment and helping the communities in energy saving by using energy methods like saving jikos.
Other key issues that were discussed included wildlife management programme, Land and natural resources management. Also talked about was peace security, Livestock management, Tourism and
Enterprise activities such as bead works.
