Mategwa Lauded as Police DT SACCO Opens Annual Delegates Congress in Mombasa

Mombasa — The Kenya National Police DT SACCO on Tuesday officially opened its Annual Delegates Congress Cohort One in Mombasa, marking a key milestone in the Sacco’s leadership and governance calendar.
The Congress was presided over by the Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Hon. Wycliffe A. Oparanya, EGH, and brought together senior government officials, Sacco leadership, delegates, and management.
The event was graced by the National Chairman of Kenya National Police DT SACCO, Mr. David Sohelo Mategwa, OGW, HSC, DSA, ICUDE, whose leadership has been credited with strengthening governance structures, accountability, and member-focused growth within the institution.
Also in attendance were the Nairobi County Director of Co-operatives, Ms. Dolphine Aremo, the Starehe Sub-County Co-operative Officer, Ms. Rose Mwithiga, members of the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Solomon Atsiaya, MBS, management, and staff.
Speaking during the opening, leaders hailed the Congress as a vital platform for enhancing delegate capacity and reinforcing the principles of transparency and prudent management in the co-operative sector. Chairman Mategwa was praised for his consistent push for strong leadership, strategic alignment with national co-operative policy, and inclusive engagement of members.
Under his stewardship, the Kenya National Police DT SACCO has continued to consolidate its position as one of the country’s leading Saccos, with a clear focus on sustainable growth and member empowerment.
The Annual Delegates Congress is expected to chart the way forward on governance, policy direction, and shared prosperity for members, reinforcing the Sacco’s commitment to excellence in the co-operative movement.
