Bahati Member of Parliament Irene Njoki has implored upon the Government to intervene and see to it that the cost of education in the country is affordable.
Rising on the floor of the House, While contributing to a motion by Githunguri Member of Parliament Hon Gathoni wa Muchomba on Development of policy on standardization and production of school uniforms in the country at the National assembly the Honorable Njoki said:
“I’m calling on the National government to intervene and save parents from the high cost of joining junior secondary school because the cost of buying uniforms is higher than that of school fees and making it difficult for parents to afford.”
Njoki’s vision is “When you educate one person you can change a life, when you educate many you can change the world”
Her office remains committed to continue engaging more partners to enrol and keep needy students in school as part of her education agenda for the people of Bahati .
Ms. Njoki has also introduced AKIBA NA MREMBO EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME. The empowerment program seeks to empower groups from Bahati constituency to adopt savings and investment culture for financial and economic transformation through training, access to government funds and partnerships with major companies and organizations.
