Nakuru County government flagship project at Karai area, Naivasha is set to be completed before the end of the year.
According to area governor Lee Kinyanjui, the project, an ultra-modern market will cost the county government Sh80 million.
“We are happy with the progress of the construction of an ultramodern Sh80 million fish market at Karai, Naivasha. The market will house traders, especially the youth who have been hawking fish along the Naivasha-Nairobi highway,” the governor observed yesterday after visiting the site
He continued, “As we wait for the completion of the market by December this year, my administration will provide coolers for the hawkers to preserve the fish. This will temporarily solve hygiene issues concerning handling of the fish”.
Kinyanjui is seeking a second term as the governor and is banking on his development track record to woe voters in the vast county.
