The Division One competition will feature 16 teams, while Division 2 will field up to 24 teams. Host clubs in the six-leg tournament will receive Sh1 million each to enhance their preparations for the high-stakes encounter.
Willis Ojwang, the Communications and Partnerships Manager at SportPesa, reiterated the firm’s commitment to sports development in Kenya and urged fans to come out in large numbers for the circuit.
The 57th edition of the Christie 7s is scheduled for July 27th and 28th, 2024, at the RFUEA Grounds on Ngong Road, Nairobi. The event will feature the Harlequin Ladies in three legs: Christie 7s, Prinsloo 7s, and Kabeberi 7s.
The Christie 7s promises to be the best yet, offering an exceptional experience for players, fans, and partners.
Banana leaves, traditionally used for wrapping food in cultural celebrations, are now being used to preserve the freshness of miraa before it reaches market destinations.
This eco-friendly packaging solution contributes to the economy by creating employment opportunities and minimising environmental degradation caused by polythene paper use.
Local banana leaf traders, Alice Muthoni and Kobia Kirianki, have seen the product expand beyond livestock fodder to a means of earning a livelihood.
The business has seen significant returns for farmers and traders, with prices varying based on size. Kirianki suggests that other sectors should adopt eco-friendly packaging to minimise the use of plastic materials, which are hazardous to the environment.
