Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat visited Embu West Sub-county police headquarters on a familiarisation tour. The DIG is on a tour of various stations across the country to familiarise and find out about operations and issues affecting police officers. Lagat expressed satisfaction with the work and conduct of officers and promised to improve the station’s appearance in the future. He also promised to look into the operationalisation of an office block put up through Manyatta Constituency NG-CDF in 2021 at a cost of Sh10 million. “This is one of the matters I will take up to ensure the office block is put to use and alleviate some of the challenges with regard to the poor working environment for our officers,” he said.
Bungoma County has put on notice County Revenue Collectors involved in fraudulent activities, attributing the decline of the county’s revenue base to their corrupt activities. Speaking on Thursday during a ceremony to hand over motorcycles to Ward Revenue Officers at Mabanga ATC, Governor Kenneth Lusaka emphasised that any officers found engaging in such activities would face severe consequences. He stated that the county is committed to boosting its revenue base, noting that counties could no longer solely rely on allocations from the National Government. Lusaka also cautioned Law Enforcement Officers against overstepping their mandate by posing as revenue collectors.

Maasai Council of Elders has called on the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to strike a deal with Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) in a bid to restore normalcy in the education calendar. The Council of Elders’ Chairman Kelena Ole Nchoe said the strike was impacting negatively on the young learners who could be forced to extend their academic term, despite having reported to school on schedule. “The young learners are the ones being affected because they are in school wasting time. This stalemate should be resolved quickly so that learning can continue as usual,” he said.
