President Ruto’s government will not be threatened by blackmail from Azimio la Umoja, Nyeri Senator Wahome Wamatinga has warned Raila Odinga who is the Azimio leader.
The Nyeri senator said that the Kenya Kwanza government led by President Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua inherited a troubled government from the previous regime and they are working day and night to ensure they bring back the country’s economy back to its feet.
He said that president Ruto had extended an olive branch to Odinga by agreeing to nominate seven members each from both Azimio and Kenya Kwanza for Bi-partisan parliamentary discussion but the Azimio side are threatening to go back to the streets for demonstrations through claims of high cost of living.
He spoke at St John Micha Catholic Church in Nyeri Town constituency during a funds drive for a new church.
He was accompanied by among others Tana Water Works Development Agencyย chairman Wanyaga Gathaka and his New KCC counterpart Maina Kamiru.
“No nusu mkate government nor handshake as we know this is where the Kenyan economy went down stream due to corruption,” he said.
The Senator warned Azimio leaders that during the demonstrations, any property that will be destroyed will be compensated by the political parties funds given to political parties adding that no one will be left to suffer due to uncalled for demonstrations.
On his part, Gathaka Tana thanked the Kenya Kwanza Government for nominating to serve in providing water and sanitation in the region.
The New KCC chairman told the congregation that they will diligently serve Kenyans in the different capacities they have been given.
Later, the trio attended a ceremony at AIPCA Thunguma Church where Mrs Damaris W Wanjohi was celebrating 40 years of Church leadership.
