The mass action being perpetrated by Azimio La Umoja coalition leaders has been condemned by a section of political, business and religious leaders from Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s back yard of Nyeri County.
The leaders want the opposition politicians to embrace dialogue and call of any planned demonstration.
Speaking at Senior Chief Wambugu Palace near Nyeri town yesterday, the leaders led by Bishop Samuel Wachira of AIPCA Church in Othaya, the leaders said the continued mass was making negative impact in the country and would adversely affect the already ailing economy.
The Bishop was accompanied by among others David Ndirangu Wangai alias Proper, James Kabarita, Gladys Njuguna and Elizabeth Mbogo.
They called on Kenyans to exercise tolerance and give the Kenya Kwanza administration time to fix the country’s economy saying President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua have been in the new government for less than one year and needed time to rectify the situation.
They noted that the demonstrations have been making the country lose income worth billions of shillings whose end result was a shrinking economy.
Proper, a former MCA and a businessman noted that Kenyans will continue to lose more and depend on foreign aid if they failed to support the current government and among other things, voluntarily pay taxes.
He further urged Nyeri residents to accord the Presidency the respect the duo deserve.
Bishop Wachira added that religious leaders should come out and advocate for peace and tranquility among all Kenyans irrespective of their political party affiliation.
The other leaders called on the government to speed up reforms in various sub sectors that Kenyans rely on to get their daily bread and fund other activities.
