- When the society rejects the ill behaving child he regrets wishing that better he could have behaved normally to avoid being disassociated with the rest members of the family as he is denied all good opportunities available due to his questionable actions.
- Those who witness violence but fail to take any action to deescalate it find hard time when invited in a court of law to give evidence as they spend both time and money to attend cases which could have been prevented if they took appropriate actions in good time rather than remaining as spectators or making the matter worse by getting involved in the hostility.

Every year in a country like Kenya the national exams are done and results released. According to grading some are declared to have passé while others are said to have failed. Those who perform excellently boldly come out to celebrate the mentioning some of the stakeholders who supported the course.
Those who fail rarely appear in public commenting on their results and when they do they are full of regrets. The stakeholders who have contributed towards this failure do not want to be mentioned so the candidate appears as if he was on his own in the dismal performance.
What eats those who were involved in the process is guilt more so for not having performed their role for example a student who did not thoroughly revise the notes given by teachers, a parent who failed to buy learning materials for the learner and a teacher who missed classes.
In a patriarchal society a weird behaving child is almost disowned by parents and relatives with most of those he wrongs asking whose child he is. Once traced in a certain family the father attributes the indecent behaviour to upbringing by mother or bad traits inherited from maternal side. Mothers are usually sympathetic with their kids but are left ashamed that their kids have portrayed them in a bad light.
Much as the fathers are in denial and blaming someone else they feel guilty that the poor guidance, absenteeism and noninterest in the welfare of their children have made their family the laughing stock in the community.

A common saying among the aged of I wish I knew is used to show regret for something which was either done using the wrong means or failed to be done with both of these resulting to yield that does not please the maker of the statement. Had the right channel been followed and action required taken life would have been better.
Seeking for counsel during times of uncertainty is important as it can lower once chances of regretting especially when he obtains the correct advice.
It is equally important that whoever seeks advice from you with intention of doing good you should guide him well so that in future he does not regret visiting you.
As human being we need to note that no one is perfect even if we erred in the past that does not mean that we cannot take intervention measures to correct the mistakes.
Let us do the best possible we can to make life comfortable today and in future. Every step we take in the right direction counts.
