Meru, Kenya — The government has ramped up its nationwide awareness campaign for the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Project, with a high-profile forum held at Kamundi Hall in Meru County.
The event was spearheaded by Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, Ms. Roseline Njogu, joined by Mr. Gitonga Mugambi, CBS, from the State Department for Forestry, and Mr. Patrick Kilemi from the State Department for Cooperatives. The gathering united county leaders, national officials, youth representatives, and community stakeholders in a shared mission to advance youth empowerment.
Funded by the World Bank and implemented under the leadership of President Dr. William Ruto, the NYOTA Project aims to equip more than 820,000 youth across Kenya with employability skills, mentorship, and startup capital—enabling them to learn, earn, and prosper.
“This government is committed to practical, inclusive, and results-oriented interventions that empower our young people to become active drivers of national transformation,” said PS Njogu in her keynote address.
The Meru forum is part of the ongoing rollout of NYOTA across counties, designed to ensure young Kenyans are informed and ready to seize the opportunities the programme offers.
