PSC Chairperson Calls For Adherence To Guidelines In Structuring State Corporations

Public Service Commission (PSC) chairperson Amb. Anthony Muchiri, has urged state corporations to strictly follow PSC guidelines when establishing organizational offices and developing governance structures to ensure sustainable service delivery for both present and future generations.
Speaking yesterday at the Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) headquarters in Nairobi during an engagement with the Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) team on Human Resource Instruments for State Corporations under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Amb. Muchiri underscored the urgency of integrating young professionals into the public service to address longstanding succession management challenges.
“Our jobs are transient. We serve in the public sector as trustees of the people—not for personal gain. It is our duty to ensure that the structures we put in place stand the test of time,” said Amb. Muchiri.
Echoing his sentiments, Dr. Paul Kipronoh, Principal Secretary in the State Department for Agriculture, emphasized the need for stakeholders to design institutional frameworks that promote the effective and efficient utilization of human capital.
Also present at the event were PSC Commissioners Joan Machayo and Mwanamaka Mabruki, Deputy Commission Secretary Dr. Sylvester Obong’o, and other senior officials from the agriculture sector and affiliated state corporations.
