In this 21st century relationship relationship is a barrier of achieving goals to many young people. Incompetence in relationship matters is the major aspect affecting most of the youths. It is very normal and good for a youth to be relationship as much as it won’t be a hindrance for one to achieve his or her objectives in life. Relationship has its advantages and disadvantages, this is what the youths are yet to understand hence ending up to jump from one relationship to another.
Most youths especially who are still schooling when entering a relationship they focus on the good or positive and move away or to the next if they experience anything negative. This situation has led to adverse effect among the youth since most of them end up committing suicide others venture into drugs and become addicts others die of depression.
Some youths take relationship as fun activity whereby they enter into much relationship as possible hence shifting their focus to ‘loose living’. Other students especially the ladies enter into relationship with old men or rather married men who are majorly referred to ‘sponsors’ for their own advantage in which most probably is money. Most of them are even careless of their health status and focus more on what they feel is advantageous from the relationships.
The worst thing which makes this issue require much attention is how the youths react when facing frustrations in relationship. They mostly end up destroying their lives and future.
In my opinion more emphasis should be put on peer education on relationship through seminars and other programs that would reach the youths effectively. It will enable the youths to know how to go about effective relationship, what to persevere in relationships, the pros and cons of relationship etc. hence reducing scandals surrounding relationships.
Opening of more counseling programs to deal with matters of relationship would be of great importance to the youths especially who are undergoing through mental disorders of relationships.
