Rent seeking behaviour is a behaviour that has characterized Kenyan politics since time immemorial. This is a behaviour where in order to get anything in politics particularly in elective posts such as members of parliament, senate, governors etc.
Individuals aspiring to be in those positions find themselves attached to some individuals who come in the name of sponsoring their campaigns so when they finally secure this seats the individuals will benefit from goverment tenders and contracts.
Due to this reason the country end up receiving bad development programs because the individual end up offering bad services because most of them have no capacity and also they are not concerned of the oversight because there’s none.
If the government of Kenya will not take action on this behaviour the country will always remain underdeveloped while other countries in the globe are developing rapidly.
