Tharaka Nithi County government in collaboration with the office of the county’s First Lady Mrs Margaret Muthomi and Mpesa Foundation will hold a free medical camp tomorrow at Rubate Teachers College in Chuka Sub- County.
Speaking to the media at Chuka County referral Hospital yesterday, the county’s Director Medical Services Dr Elijah Kameti said the exercise will start at 9am and end at 5pm.
He said a range of medical services will be offered including breast cancer screening, dental care, maternal health and eye care.
“Those who will require further health care attention will be referred to hospitals,” said Dr Kameti.
The official urged the residents to turn in large numbers for the advantage of the free services noting that such medical camps are very important in taking services closer to the people.
The First Lady’s office has been organizing free medical camps in collaboration with health stakeholders and the county government that have been very instrumental in the health sector.
Last month, Mrs Muthomi went around the county donating dignity kits to vulnerable students, especially those in day secondary schools.
