Richard Muteti Meets COMESA Business Council CEO, Presents SME Handbook to Boost Regional MSME Growth

Chief Executive Officer of the Confederation of Micro and Small Enterprises Organization of East Africa (CMSEOEA) and National Chairman of the Sub-Saharan Skills and Apprenticeship Network Kenya Chapter (SASANET), held a strategic meeting with Teddy Soobramanien, CEO of the COMESA Business Council (CBC), during the COMESA Business Forum & Exhibition at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi.
In the meeting, Muteti presented the SME Handbook to Soobramanien, emphasizing the critical role that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play in driving economic transformation, regional integration, and inclusive growth across Africa. He called for stronger collaboration between COMESA institutions and MSME organizations to foster environments that promote competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability.
“MSMEs are the heartbeat of Africa’s economy. Strengthening their capacity and participation in regional trade will be key to unlocking shared prosperity across the continent,” said Muteti.
Both CMSEOEA and CBC reaffirmed their commitment to advancing policy dialogue, skills development, and market access for MSMEs throughout the COMESA region.
