Senate Committee Gives Governor Sakaja Two Weeks To Address Questions On Pending Bills

The Nairobi City County Governor, Johnson Sakaja has been given two weeks to provide the Senate with a comprehensive response to various concerns raised by the Senators on pending bills.
Sakaja appeared before the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Budget but failed to adequately address the questions raised by the Senators.
As a result, the committee members granted him two weeks to prepare and return with a thorough response to the issues.
The governor was invited to the committee following a request for a statement by Kakamega County Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale regarding the status of KSh16 billion in pending bills by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS).
Additionally, Sakaja was expected to update the committee on the completion status of projects and the implementation of the Financing Locally Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) Programme, questions raised by Nairobi City County Senator Edwin Sifuna.
Committee chairperson Ali Roba instructed Governor Sakaja to prepare and appear before the committee in two weeks with clear responses to the raised questions.
Others who attended the meeting wereTabitha Mutinda (Vice Chairperson), Richard Onyonka, Mohammed Faki, Shakila Abdalla, Eddy Oketch and Edwin Sifuna.
