Gusii professional in the Education, have demanded respect for the former CS Fred Matiangi , since he served with unmatched distinction as Cabinet Secretary in the interior, Education, ICT and lands.
Speaking with the press at Kisii Town the professionals said that, Matiangi he is the Gusii’s foremost leader and son who was loyal and trusted workaholic in government cutting his image as national figure capable of transforming the nation.
The professionals said that they take great exception on the recent attacks on their colleague , which show disrespect for the Gusii nation as whole.
“We warn those hell bent on frustrating our colleague that Omogusii is watching and that they will pay the ultimate political price,”said Geoffrey Mogire, secretary, Gusii Education Secretary .
They cited that, mistreatment of Matiang’i will only serve to alienate the Gusii community ‘political support.
According to them, every Kenyan should be allowed to enjoy his inalienable rights including freedom of speech and association.
The professionals asked some critics not to be vindictive and always on the rear of the mirror instead of focusing forward.
Fred Ontere, Chair, Gusii Education Professional said that as a community they demand respect, urging members of the public to respect one another for good development in the region.
They asked the entire Gusii community across the political divide to rally behind Matiangi and demand for respect at the national political arena.
They lauded Education Cs Ezekiel Machogu and other leaders for their efforts in uniting Gusii Community citing that it is a positive development to forge Gusii unity among leaders and citizens.
