Motivations and curiosity is the key to learning, and therefore, encouraging secondary students to embrace their curiosity is an important part of education, most of the secondary teachers always ensures that their students succeed in their Kenya National Examinations Council (K.C.S.E) by elevating their curiosity and motivations via telling them that, in universities , life is just enjoyable, no struggling at all, this makes them to work hard so as to pass their exams and join respective campuses with an aim of enjoying life.
But something that teachers fail to let their students be aware of, is about the challenges that are in the university and colleges, in my view, it is also the responsibility of our beloved teachers to let their students know more about the challenges and problems that university students encounter while in school, this will atleast make them prepare and get ready for life in campus by figuring out what to bring, how to handle challenging circumstances and what they can do to manage their workload.
However, failure to advise them accordingly about campus life, makes most of them not to work hard in universities, fail to attend lessons, drop out of the school, start to use drugs and even make and form gangstar groups and do illegal things, crime. They do all these because, after joining the university and colleges, they find that life is not enjoyable the way they expected due to the advice they got from teachers. It is high time teachers to give them the real image and life of campus before they join.
