As political temperatures begin to rise in the counties and nationally, Tharaka Nithi Devolution and administration affairs CEC Abraham Maruta has threatened to fund goons who will be countering Governor Muthomi Njuki’s opposition in political gatherings.
Speaking during a burial ceremony at Kamwathu in Tharaka North Sub County, Maruta accused their enemies of using goons who gave him hard time to address mourners after they claimed county government had neglected them.
Furious Maruta resulted to issuing threats exuding confidence that his boss would be re-elected from his track records but mourners who had already become unruly told him off claiming the governor has done nothing to better their lives.
It is at this point that Maruta said the Njuki’s government will embark on funding goons to counter such shaming moments from what he called drunkards goons ferried to the funeral.

The protocol breaching was a calculated move to allow one on one reply to the former governor Ragwa’s anticipated sentiments a by Paul Mugambi as they are both eyeing senatorial seat with Mugambi being allied to governor Njuki.
However when Ragwa took to the podium, he watered down the trick laid on him and accused Paul Mugambi of being a project by the incumbent governor Njuki, a thing that seemed to enlighten residents present.
Ragwa promised to beat Paul Mugambi hands down in the approaching August polls despite him being fronted by the governor.
“You will have to come down from the back of your sponsor and ask for votes independently as we cannot consider aspirants hanging on other’s coats. I also want to promise you a fair defeat early in the morning come August,’’ Ragwa said.
When Mugambi rose to speak aiming at countering Ragwa’s political whips, the crowd heckled him chanting `kaaba Ragwa’ slogan giving him hard time to address them.
His pleads to the mourners to allow him address them flopped badly and he was forced to hand over back the microphone having not countered the attacks rained oh him.
This was the first time the two aspirants were meeting in one podium after a long time of Chest beating by the youthful senatorial aspirant who has been vowing to succeed senator Kindiki.
Governor Njuki is who is seeking to retain his seat in August polls,has been accused of side-lining Tharaka and Igambang’ombe regions in terms of projects distributions an issue that is greatly lowering his popularlity ahead of polls.
As a campaign takes shape, it remains a matter of time to see the direction the battle between various aspirants will take as we gear towards polls.
