As a way of making the university outstanding, the don revealed that they are coming up with unique programs that will attract learners from over the country and globally and thus giving the new university an identity.
The plan is incorporated in the Varsity’s strategic plan where according to the institution boss they are working around the clock to be the leading institution in matters of dry land agriculture and mining and the programs have already been developed.

In this year’s intake Muriungi said the university is expecting about 2,000 students from all over the country which he termed as a big boost to locals and investors businesswise.
He called upon them to invest in housing around the university to provide houses for the ballooning students’ population and also treat the leaners like their own kids by being mindful of their general welfare.
“The investors around are very excited over their blooming businesses as a results of our students. I however ask them not to over price their house rents and also ensure their houses are not used to carry out businesses that may in any way affect students like selling of alcohol and other drugs’’ he said.
Since establishment of the institution located at Gatunga, the locality and nearby Marimanti and Gatunga towns have undergone major transformation especially on general infrastructure.
Being an independent university, residents are expecting more goodies from its growth more than when it has been a mere university college.
