Over one million students across the country who sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) are being admitted in various schools. This follows after the placement in their respective schools they were called. Admission is being carried out countrywide with high turn up of students being admitted for form one. The Cabinet Secretary of Education Professor George Magoha wants to ensure 100% transition to high school and this is the last term he is expected to fulfill the transition. This year marks the fourth year of 100% to high school during the reign of Professor George Magoha.
A number of essential items for admission has become headache to parents as uniforms are being sold expensive. This inhibits some parents to admit their children to one as a result of inadequate capital to cater for admission process. As Professor Magoha expects all pupils who sat for exam are to join form to proceed with their level of education. Ensuring that children should access quality education in order to nurture their big dreams.
Following myriad of challenges that various school are facing has hindered the number of children who are expected to join. Problem such inadequate infrastructure to cater for the high number of children classrooms and desk are among the challenges in that classroom need to be expanded to accommodate the steady increase number of students joining after the lounging of 100% transition to high school.
Professor George Magoha wants to leave legacy during his reign in order for other Cabinet Secretary for Education who will come after him to follow his footsteps. In his term, Magoha has curb a lot of examination irregularities and those culprits who were found in such scandals have been dealt with accordingly. Moreover Magoha has also improved the condition of various schools in the country by setting up education officials who monitor the progress of students in school.
