- The selection panel had shortlisted several candidates from a list of 20 applicant’s among them were Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper leader),Martha Karua(NARC),Ali Hassan Joho(ODM),Sabina Chege(Jubilee Party), Charity Ngilu (NARC), Stephen Tarus(National Liberty Party),Gideon Moi(KANU) among other applicants.
- The Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka humbles himself to show up for Raila Odinga Deputy interview. Musyoka had initially declined to attend the interview since he describes the exercise as more of conversation and not an interview. He also added that the reason as to why he changed the mind for interviews, he says that it was out of respect and so demeaning.

The interview was held Serena Hotel.The Panel list was led by former Kwanza MP, Dr. Noah Wekesa among other seven members.Kalonzo defends himself saying that it was his own decision to appear before the Azimio la Umoja running mate selection panel saying that he did not want to give anyone petty excuses to exclude him from being Raila Odinga running mate.
Over the past few days, Wiper leader ruled out appearing the committee saying that it was a public humiliation of a person caliber.He said the selection panel had great and experienced people like Bishop Zacheus Okoth and Bishop Njenga and so he had to make the decision of attending it.
