A postmortem report has indicated that the two daughters who were murdered by his father the cause of their death was head and neck injury was a result of sharp force trauma.
On 6/23/2023 at around 10:30 Nelson Momanyi Ontinta accused person murdered his two daughters ten months and two and half years by cutting them on their head and neck using respectively using a panga at Kiobegi village in Nyamache Sub county
“As a result of my examination I formed the opinion that the cause of death was head and neck injury due to sharp force trauma,” said Dr Ariaga Naomi pathologist
According to mental assessment report which was conducted on 11/1/2023 indicated that Ontita the accused person is mentally fit to face trial, said an investigations officer.
Nelson Ontita was arrested after he allegedly killed his two children aged 10 months and two year in cold blood when he was left with them at home.
Their bodies of the deceased daughters were later found in a maize plantation by their mother who raised an alarm.
The officer said the psychiatrist’s report indicates Ontita is fit to stand trial after the suspect underwent a mental assessment tests.

Prosecution council Ian Mukusi in an application prayed with the court to give the investigation 14 days to hold the Ontita in police custody pending investigations.
“We are seeking for 14days to hold the suspect in police custody as the police finalize investigations, “Said Mukusi.
So far the investigation officers have recorded statements from the witnesses who are are also family members including Ontita’s parent.
The officer said they have taken the exhibits to the government chemist in Kisumu for analysis including a panga , a trouser and a pair of sandals which had blood stains.
Investigation officers also extracted nails from the deceased persons to match their DNA with that of the suspect to link him directly to the murder.
He said they will close the miscellaneous file upon the Approval from the Office Director of Public Prosecution and charge Ontinta with Murder.
“Within the 14 days we are writing a letter to the DPP to allow us close the miscellaneous file and open another file to charge the suspect with Murder,” the officer said.
The case will be heard in court on 23rd this month.
The burial of the two deceased daughters is set on 16/1/2023 at their rural home Kiobegi Village in Nyamache Sub County.
