The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has affirmed its support for President William Ruto’s decision to form a broad based government.
In a statement that was delivered by the party’s County Coordinators, they emphasized the importance of the decision in stabilizing the country and fostering national unity.
“As the founding members of this Party, we support President Ruto, who is also our Party Leader, for his decision to form a broad-based Government,” the statement read in part.
“We believe this will not only stabilize the country but unify the Nation towards shared prosperity by ensuring a cohesive environment that allows the government to work. We are optimistic that the members from other political formations included in government will help the President deliver to Kenyans,” stated Dr. Kaberia Kubai chairman, UDA County Coordinators Caucus
The UDA coordinators highlighted the President’s commitment to the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), which is a key component of the Party’s blueprint, The Plan.
They urged the newly constituted Cabinet to act swiftly in transforming the President’s promises into actionable policies.
“The President, drawing largely from our Party’s blueprint, The Plan, has made significant promises to Kenyans towards the realization of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). We urge the newly constituted Cabinet to now move with speed and convert these aspirations and promises into workable policy papers that will accelerate the delivery of the numerous pledges we have made to Kenyans. Only then can The Plan be implemented,” said Kubai.
Additionally, they acknowledged recent changes within the Party, notably the appointment of Senator Hassan Omar Hassan as the new Secretary General. They expressed confidence in his leadership and commitment to advancing the Party’s goals.
“We wish to formally welcome our new Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan to his new role. We have full confidence in Sen. Omar as he is not only a founding member of the Party, but has also ably served us as the Vice Chairperson of UDA Party. He is therefore an insider in this family. We would like to assure our Secretary General of our unwavering support as he drives this Party forward. We encourage him to now revive all the pending Party programmes and forge forward. In our Secretary General we trust!” They added.
The Coordinators reiterated their commitment to working alongside President Ruto and the newly appointed Cabinet to ensure the successful implementation of the Party’s agenda and the overall development of the nation.
