The Union guards led by Dr. Isaac GM Andabwa – National General Secretary – are vowing to adopt the GEN- Z’s modus operandi if the Government continues to ignore their plight.
While addressing the media early at Under the radar restaurant in Nairobi the workers representatives (Shop stewards )from Nairobi County thanked the President William Ruto for agreeing to listen to Kenyans and in particular the GEN-Z’s concerns. They lauded the move by the President to initiate a multi-sectorial national dialogue course to address the pertinent challenges facing the Nation citing the genesis back to the Koffi Annan accord on: electoral (IEBC) malpractices, inequality, youth unemployment, land and historical injustices as the key root causes of what is bedeviling the country.
We support the move by ODM leader Raila Odinga in calling for national dialogue and the need to embrace the Government of National Unity irrespective of the political or coalition side that wins the General election, said Dr. Andabwa
The guards appealed to the president to address corruption, nepotism, tribalism and enforce a balanced national outlook in appointing state officers and parastatal chiefs.
The Guards called on the head of state to embrace professionalism and shun cronyism that has seen him being held hostage and a hindrance in delivering Kenya Kwanza BETA policies.
Private security officers are the real hustlers but remain highly marginalised by those in authority in particular by the ministries of interior and labour where the cadre belongs.
We are tired of undercutting and corruption in the private security industry in terms of bidding and unfair award of tenders to non-complying firms in the industry.
The guards have now vowed to Occupy PSRA, Harambee HSE and NSSF building in demanding for their rights and general welfare. They want the immediate implementation of the 30K salary increment decree by PSRA.
The Union welcomed and unveiled Steve Kay, a luminary artist as their brand ambassador in their efforts to boost Union visibility and membership recruitment drive.
