Gaone writing Paula an autograph
BIRTHDAY DEDICATION TO GAONE SKELEMANI!
By: Dr Paula.O.M.Otukile
Gaborone, Botswana.
Worth Noting:
- I began to put serious eye in my work, later on I mastered my craft and began long networks and I began a gig with various newspapers.
- On my interviews I met one Gaone Skelemani, she was very presentable and outspoken and looking at her book, I saw a need to close up and learn from her too.
- She invited me to her book launch, which was one of the best I ever saw, and to say my first proposal I approached her, since they had a similar marathon project, she was the first you g person to give me directions of pitch in form f proposal locally, and when the mighty Makwala did his book she introduced me to the team to interview them.

I had started writing books, with a meagre budget meaning the editing was of poor quality, and the covers the worst.
I had nothing but the zeal and the drive as an author, later on I found my niche and I could draw clients into my stable, things improved.
Many people I know do not know where to put a comma, nor full stop but only to spit words like a train and present it to the world, I was on the same bus.
Being a writer in the Facebook era where people do not read nor put effort on craft, one can pass away with lots of gaps and errors and still consider themselves a writer.
I met one Dr Noke who sincerely pointed out my lack of seriousness in punctuation, short writing and to say I was happy I will not be element of change in truth reforms.

Lately when they got events she never cease to give me a shoutout. I sincerely feels on the book industry one needs hardwork, networking and good advertising but the passion too works, all these works hand in hand!
It is not a coincidence for the writer of “from their lips to mine,” to share a birthday with the might Zambia 🇿🇲 because legends are born in amazing days!
In this era where friends only calls others for beers, parties, in this era where friends especially girls become United because they share a common enemy, in this era where girls become friends for they share same taste of style or gossip seems nice or men issues unite them, I do love to celebrate a friend of distinct caliber and nature, a link to elevation, a network to winning and being a leader of note!
What friends do you make this season or what brings you together with people?
Happy birthday to the coolest scribe I know.
