Multitudes began votes 21st of October as the race began for Zikomo Africa Awards 2023, one outstanding prospective winner is Winani Motsokono née Mpala, who is one of those who represents Botswana on Best author award 2023.
The author of Lea’s secret is a woman of valor, perseverance a mentor and GBV activist in Nata, in Ngamiland region in Botswana.
Winani is a teacher of essence as she grooms and teaches students English at Nata Senior where her bread is buttered full time.
She is a public speaker of note, as she gets invited to motivate and revive youth in various platforms in Botswana.
Her highlight was representing Nata region authors earlier this year, during international Book Day which included minister of Arts, youth and culture.
Winani is a sister, a mother and fosters so much girl children into relevant, focused young queens.

Winani was one of the pillar personnel’s who supported the third annual Mulher Forte African literature awards in Maun in March 2023.
She is the 2023 Global AfriCAN Honoree award winner in South Africa, which was hosted by Anthea Thyssen.
One of her sons is a seasoned upcoming rapper who is making waves in Maun, called Onex. Art is part of the Mpala family as the niece Katlego Mpala, recently took the Miss Nata 2023 crown.
