The indispensable work of Hon. Councilor Phuthego Modise, will open new avenues for oral health in the Gaborone City.
Oral health is a crucial sign of general health, happiness, and quality of life. Dental caries, periodontal disease, tooth loss, oral cancer, oro-dental trauma, noma, and birth defects like cleft lip and palate are just a few of the illnesses and conditions that fall under this umbrella term.
Oral hygiene affects overall health. Your body’s internal organs can be accessed through your mouth. The mouth can be used as a viewing point to spot early signs of systemic diseases. Systemic illnesses like diabetes frequently first show up as a mouth lesion or other dental issues like a gum infection.
Apart from sanitation, infrastructure, and safety in Botswana, our respected Councilor has actively participated in a plethora of educational events. This is yet another awareness program that is going to be personally managed by his team. The program educates the teachers in all of Gaborone’s esteemed schools to help spread the word of oral hygiene.
