East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament Kanini Kega says the former ruling party is still vibrant with grand plans of being in the next government.
Kega said some party leadership positions will be taken over by new leaders as part of its transformative agenda.
Notable positions, the party Director of Elections revealed was that of Party Leader which is held by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He said the 4th President of Kenya position will be handed to another person as part of relieving the former Head of State political parties duties so that he could concentrate on other assignments in the country and beyond.
He also hinted that the position of Secretary General, currently held by former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni might be given out to another person as a way of making the party more vibrant.
Speaking in Kieni constituency after a Sunday Service, Kega said having been elected to represent the country in the regional assembly, he will be working closely with all political leaders, President William Ruto included, for the wellbeing of the country.
He however, said that consulting leaders in the current government should not be construed to mean that he had left Jubilee party.
He said, the former ruling party would be embarking on laying strategies aimed at making sure that it will be part and parcel of the next government which will be formed after the 2027 General Election.
“Formation are made and left. What was there in 2017 is different from what we witnessed in 2022 and you can be sure in 2027, formations will be different,” the two term Kieni constituency MP said on Jubilee quest to be in the next government.
To show that the party should not be written off yet, Kega noted that it was the third strongest party in the country after United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and recently won the Utawala Ward seat in Nairobi during the by-elections held last week.
Thus, he called on the party members not to rush in joining other political parties saying Jubilee has a bright future in Jubilee.
While addressing the faithful, Kega thanked them for giving him a chance to serve as the area MP for two terms which he said he tried his best to improve their standards of living through upgrading of various infrastructures and awarding of bursaries to the needy scholars.
