Worth Noting:
- There are celebrities who were elected in the previous elections and did not fulfill their promises to their people. This should serve as a lesson and citizens should understand that artists are human too and can be corrupt. The people crave for philanthropists, which I believe artists could be without the need of getting involved in politics.
- Celebrities should comprehend that most people have given up on healthy and fair leadership. However, they should use their influence to educate and inform them on the importance of electing not only good but also great and remarkable leaders.
Recently there have been cases of celebrities especially musicians vying for various positions in the government. They all have different ways of persuading their followers or fans to vote for them. There are pros and cons of having a celebrity as a representative in the government. The latter outshines the former since some celebrities are not well educated or partially illiterate. They only depend on their influence and wealth.
With the type of life, we are living today, we tend to believe in anybody who guarantees us a better future once we elect them. Celebrities are using this as an advantage and even go to an extent of bribing people with money. The people have thirst for change hence go to any extent to ensure they get new leaders. People should understand that there’s a difference between music and politics and talent and ability to lead. Performing on a stage in order to entertain people is way diverse from proposing a motion in the parliament.

The people should not be brainwashed since few of the celebrities want to multiply their influence and wealth. Some celebrities do not care about the welfare of the people. People should elect somebody who relates well with them, someone who will provide good infrastructure and preach integrity. Let us learn from our prior mistakes. Am not against election of celebrities as representatives in various fields in the government, am urging you to secure your children’s future by electing a good leader.
We should elect leaders who will give back to the community and not those who will embrace corruption, contaminate the peace and unity among the people, and tolerate nepotism and other immoral and unethical deeds. Choose somebody who once elected will return to his/her people, someone who will eradicate a common virus known as corruption and finally elect a leader who will always put the needs of his/her people first.
