Kenyans Should Not Entertain LGBTQ Agenda in The Country – Leaders

  • Yesterday, governors; Mutahi Kahiga (Nyeri) Eric Kipkoech (Kericho) and Hilary Barchok (Bomet) led other leaders, gathered in Nyeri in condemning those fronting the LGBTQ agenda.
  • Addressing mourners during the burial of Mzee Francis Githinji Hiuhu, a Father-in-Law to Governor Kahiga, the governors said it was unacceptable to allow such organisation take roots in the country.
  • Scores of leaders who addressed the mourners at Kwa-J area in Kieni East Sub-County along Nanyuki-Nyeri highway supported President William and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua who on Thursday said they will not allow LGBTQ agenda to thrive in the country.

Politicians, Clergy and Business leaders yesterday supported a call by the Presidency to reject the establishment of organisation supporting vices which are unacceptable in the African culture.

The leaders want Members of Parliament to hurry up in passing legislation outlawing any move aimed at introducing some western cultures.

They say, behaviours advocated by those supporting Lesbian, Gay, Bisexuality, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) should  be banned through change of the laws to reject the ruling made recently by the Supreme Court.

Yesterday, governors; Mutahi Kahiga (Nyeri) Eric Kipkoech (Kericho) and Hilary Barchok (Bomet) led other leaders, gathered in Nyeri in condemning those fronting the LGBTQ agenda.

Scores of leaders who addressed the mourners at Kwa-J area in Kieni East Sub-County along Nanyuki-Nyeri highway supported President William and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua who on Thursday said they will not allow LGBTQ agenda to thrive in the country.

Some of the leaders who attended the burial ceremony of the 81-year-old businessman included Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Wanjau who represented both President Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi,  Energy PS Alex Wachira WaTotal as well as Members of Parliament,  Anthony Njoroge Wainaina (Kieni), Michael Wambugu Wainaina (Othaya), Rahab Mukami (County MP, Nyeri) as well as EALA’s Kanini Kega.

Others were Cooperative Bank CEO Gideon Muriuki, Nyeri County Assembly Speaker Gichuhi Mwangi and scores of MCAs, Tana Water Works Development Agency (TWWDA) chairman Wanyaga Gathaka, Newfortis chairman John Githinji and businessman Daniel Wamahiu.

Away from the LGBTQ issue, the leaders eulogized Mzee Hiuhu a distinguished gentleman, who lived an exemplary life.

The final Mass in his honour was presided over by several Catholic priests led by Father Wairagu at his home in Kwa J area, Kieni constituency.

Fr. Wairagu told the political leaders to act and ensure laws guarding Kenyans against vices being advocated by LGBTQ were passed as soon as it was practically possible.

Several other leaders, attending the burial of Moses Kagiri Nderitu, the father to Laikipia County Women Representative Jane Kagiri aired similar sentiments during the ceremony at Miagayu’ini area in Tetu Constituency.

Leaders present included Cabinet Secretary for EAC, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands Development Rebecca Miano, Laikipia County governor Joshua Irungu, Senator John Kinyua, Laikipia East MP Mwangi Kiunjuri among others.
