Mbeere North Member of Parliament GK Ruku took the golden chance during Tuesdays parliamentary group meeting to raise pertinent issues he needs addressed.
“On making a request to the President William Ruto earlier yesterday at State House during the Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group meeting, the president agreed that sand harvesters from Mbeere North will supply sand to the National Housing Project,” Ruku said.
The President instructed the Principal Secretary Housing Charles Hinga to facilitate and help sand harvesters from Mbeere North to supply sand to the housing project.
Sand harvesting will be done in accordance with NEMA’s National Sand Harvesting Guidelines and other environmental laws, and in a way that protects our rivers, the environment and our road and transport infrastructure.
We’re going to move with speed to assist our youths in sand harvesting business to form sand aggregation centers in Mbeere North to take advantage of the National Housing Project. We The North thank the President for this development gesture to provide employment opportunities to our young people.”
