Kirinyaga County government under the leadership of Senator Charles Kibiru will set up industrial and innovation centres that will create employment for the Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) graduates from the area.
Senator Kibiru who is seeking to be the third Governor of the county under Jubilee party says, the initiative is one of the ways he hopes to create employment amongst thousands of youths.
Creation of employment opportunities is one of the main agenda for Kibiru and his running mate, Peter Ndambiri.
Other opportunities are expected to be derived from revival of cooperative societies where the duo hopes to modernise and restore the Sacco movements sector by among other moves, re-engineering governance and market access of produce in the county, country and globally.
For the TVET graduates, Senator Kibiru administration intends to absorb at least 60 per cent of them.
This he days wil be through training and boosting production capacity for existing midsized and cottage industries operating in the county in order to make products made in the area more competitive.
Senator Kibiru and Ndambiri have been criss-crossing the county articulating their manifesto as the election date beckons.
He is competing with among others, the incumbent Ann Waiguru of UDA, former governor Joseph Ndathi, current Women Rep. Wangui Ngirichi and former Mwea MP Peter Gitau.
