THE medical /rehab personnel in charge of the alcoholic should be aware of the chemical changes taking place and therefore the physiological, psychological, physical and spiritual mutations.
The patient feels hollow without his daily dose now that he is not taking alcohol.
THE high feeling during alcohol consumption is no longer available, so he experiences lows and feels disoriented.
Guilt and negative self-evaluation now leads to self-hatred and regrets. This person feels wasted. The patient will now try to hide indoors and even fear being seen by people. He needs a courage dose.
This individual may start hallucinating and seeing imagined phenomena. He could now start developing schizophrenia, a mental illness where loss of touch with normal life is evident.
This may lead to insanity. We need to treat these conditions with meds.
All these could be prevented by advising on slow reduction of intake as opposed to immediate withdrawal.
Which are these drugs or steps needed for effective treatment?
DIURESIS is the first mode of treatment. We have to ridoff the body accumulated metabolites in laymans language, toxins. We have to use different drugs to achieve this. We may also use NATURAL DIURETIC PROBIOTICS like the ones discovered and produced by THE INSTITUTE OF EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGISTS AND SPORTS SCIENTISTS KENYA. After cleaning your system for three weeks where we also allow you to imbibe alcohol from less than 3/4 your normal dose, then we will introduce smoothies that will discourage your body from high intake of alcohol.
At this time good bacteria are seriously working to create an environment harsh for Alcohol.
Remember in this period also we have scheduled prescribed exercises by our physiologists. These are not just Gym exercises but we’ll measured exercises. How do we measure exercise? We shall explain in the next issue.
Counseling comes in as a secondary initiative or coadjuvant. Occupational therapy and learning new skills coupled with change of location is a bonus, though circumvention of this will be done with alternatives. How do we go about this?
