Worth Noting:
- “What a waste of time, when people keep on arguing and disagreeing on things that don’t make a difference to the master, to Him who owns you, in this case God.
- Disputable matters like eating meat, to eating vegetables or even eating everything.
- Instead, we need to focus on weighty matters of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy spirit, and of love in Christ and not on food and drink so to speak.
- This is our guiding scripture today -:
- Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Samchi Group Madam Esther Muchemi always nourishes us with something tangible in reflection of our day to day lives
Today, the highly respected Captain of the industry is sharing with us much about disputable matters and she says:
“What a waste of time, when people keep on arguing and disagreeing on things that don’t make a difference to the master, to Him who owns you, in this case God.
Disputable matters like eating meat, to eating vegetables or even eating everything.
On what to wear or not wear,
Which church to attend and which to avoid,…
In other words the “gospel ” of do’s and don’ts, of the law and not Grace.
Paul, the greatest Apostle of the times, called them disputable matters, matters of the conscious,
And the instruction to the strong(those who can eat anything because of Grace,) should not treat with contempt those who don’t eat meat, and those who don’t eat meat should not judge those who eat meat and everything else.
Why?
BECAUSE both do it unto the Lord and their Master will make them stand, period!
Instead, we need to focus on weighty matters of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy spirit, and of love in Christ and not on food and drink so to speak.
This is our guiding scripture today -:
Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.
Romans 14:1-4 NIV
But let’s say this,
Even in our day to day life, in our families, in our work place, in our political terrain and even at very personal levels, let’s teach ourselves to focus on weighty matters, weighty solutions like working hard to make a difference and not complaining of food and drink when the opportunity to cultivate our land is passing by.
Small, little things if allowed, and honestly they are many, can distract you and make you not see the real picture.
Some opinions are just opinions, and yes, they are just opinions, at times your or my opinion may not bring a significant difference to the solution needed at particular times, why keep at it?
Let go of disputable matters and remain on the weighty matters”
