Nyeri County governor Mwalimu Mutahi Kahiga yesterday hosted a section of Kikuyu Council of Elders (KCE) over their planned end of year prayers.
The team, led by Eng. David Muthoga disclosed that they intend to organise a prayer day to pray for the country.
The prayer meeting will also address issues such as combating alcoholism, joining hands in unity of purpose and fostering unity among other pertinent issues.
Eng Muthoga is the KCE Nyeri County chairman and also the Vice Chairperson of the National Kikuyu Council of Elders.
He noted that it is estimated that 3,000 people will be attend the event. Others who were part of the KCE team were the National Treasurer of the KCE Eng. Peter M. Mundinia, KCE Nyeri County Payron Wilson Gituru, KCE’s Kieni East region chairman Stephen Gichuki, his Nyeri Town area counterpart Charles Muriithi, the organisation County Whip Daniel Kang’ang’i and a member Rev. James Ndirangu.
Apart from the governor, the county team also included Deputy Governor David Kinaniri.
The governor pledged to support the team in organising the prayers as well as other initiatives that are beneficial to the locals.
