President Elect Dr William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua yesterday held a consultative meeting with recently elected Nyeri County leaders.
The leaders, led by Governor Mutahi Kahiga met at the official residence of the Deputy President in Karen, Langata constituency.
“Our administration will pursue an aggressive development plan that will deliver more for Kenyans in a short period of time. To make this happen, we require a good rapport with elected leaders across the nation whose support is crucial for our success,” Dr Ruto noted after the meeting.
Those in the meeting included Members of Parliament Elect John Kaguchia (Mukurwe-ini), Wambugu Wainaina (Othaya), Rahab Mukami (Nyeri Women Rep), Geoffrey Wandeto (Tetu), Maina Mathenge (Nyeri Town), Anthony Njoroge (Kieni), Wahome Wamatinga (Nyeri Senator) and all the 30 elected Members of the County Assembly.
Also present were the Deputy Governor David Kinaniri Warui and former Tetu Constituency MP Gichuhi Mwangi who is poised to be the next Nyeri County Assembly Speaker.
Earlier, the Deputy President Elect hosted the team for a breakfast at his Karen residence before they travelled to the DP’s official residence, about six kilometres away.
