Tillabekova Madina

Worth Noting:
- I ran back home without taking off my shoes. Fortunately, my mother is not at home, I think she is working in the farm (my mother always prepares breakfast for us and works in the farm in the morning)
- Before entering my room, I started to look through the book and notebooks from my old school schedule, I found a piece of literature book torn and slightly soiled with 4 verses written on it. When I remembered looking at the fourth train, I ran out of the house again. Because we had to go to school early on the day of the event. I was too late. I repeated my poem until I reached the school. I was confident that I would tell it as well as always.
I woke up early in the morning from the deep chirping of birds. The sound of the cartoon “Tom and Jerry”. In our house, whoever wakes up first always turns on the TV. I noticed that I was late for school because I would always be eating breakfast when this cartoon was on. I still have a lot to do, clean up, brush my teeth, get dressed, put today’s schedule in my bag.
I regret not sleeping earlier last night, I watched “Cheerful and witty” show with my brother, but he is already having breakfast. He always gets up earlier than me and sometimes helps my mother make tea. And my mother shows my brother as an example to me.
I washed my face and got dressed. At night, I could do as my mother told me and put my lesson plan in my bag. My mother always said, “If you prepare the day before, you won’t be late.” I spread the butter that my mother prepared from the milk of “The kicker” (the nickname of our cow) on the cut, slightly harder bread, took big bites and ran to school.
When I came across the house of our neighbor who was afraid of Rosa’s puppy, I remembered that there was an event at school today. I also had to sing at the event. As I was reciting my poem, I forgot the fourth line of my memorized poem, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t remember it. I had to go home.

I came to the school and entered the first “Activity Hall”. My classmates, who always actively participate in the events, ran around in the sadness of the event, singing some kind of unfamiliar and strange-sounding song. In the chorus of the song, they sang “Black kettle, black kettle!” I went and asked everyone.
– Are you ready?
– Yes, I’m ready, when do we start?
“Now,” they said.
The event began… The event was organized in connection with the birthday of Uzbek poet and writer Muhammad Yusuf. I also had to read from the writer’s poem, and I told it very beautifully. I was very proud of the fact that I said it without mistakes and without interruptions. Speaking on stage in front of the whole school, students and teachers was very exciting. After my performance, those classmates sang their songs. Their voices were very beautiful but they didn’t really match each other, and some of the audience laughed when they came to the chorus. But not everyone paid attention to it.
On our way home after the event, the girls from our senior class:
– Why did you sing like that?
– Why is it bad?
– Not bad, but strange. Black kettle, black kettle! Ha-ha-ha! – mocking them, they went ahead.
I encouraged them by saying that they should not pay attention to it, that those who laugh will not be able to go on stage by themselves. We all went home.
I went home, and my uncle, who is a senior from me, also complained about the song that was sung at the event today. “There are many other songs, why did they sing this song?”
I turned to him and said, “What is he?” I asked.
“We have a tea-making ‘obdasta’, we make tea on the stove when there is no gas, that’s it. Do they sing about that too?”
I don’t know, maybe they did. The important thing is that I said my poem beautifully, so I was happy.
Out of the corner of my eye, looking at the blackened “obdasta” in the furnace, I said: “So you are that BLACK KETTLE?!”
