I am in the race for Nyeri Senator to bring radical changes – Kabando

Narc Kenya Nyeri Senatorial Candidate Kabando wa Kabando yesterday said he plans to bring far-reaching changes within the Nyeri County Government if elected.
“The people of Nyeri deserve better leadership. It is time to change. Nyeri people deserve a life that is dotted with dignity, order, hope, accountability and opportunities for businesses and employment,” he said.
Kabando spoke during a rally in Karatina town where he addressed several meetings, including one at the Karatina market.
He promised residents that once elected, he will utilize reports generated by various government agencies to fight corruption, publicize auditor’s report to residents as well as liaise with different organisations to fight for workers’ rights.
Kabando pledged to initiate programmes that will empower youth apprenticeship and recreations by launching Senator Kabando wa Kabando Empowerement Foundation.
He vowed to champion for the rehabilitative campaign to redress mental health and drug abuse challenges that have badly affected many young people.
“In my first 100 days, I will use human and logistical resources through the Foundation to focus on the aged, vulnerable and low-income population. In addition, I will also work with community welfare officers in the afflicted areas to offer sustainable solutions to the suffering,” he disclosed.
The candidate reiterated his unwavering commitment to oversight with courage, fight corruption so that Nyeri county help the people.
He vowed not to be a friend to any county officer who steals from the people of Nyeri.
“All that Nyeri needs is money meant for health, agriculture, markets, polytechnics, ECD and youth activities remains protected and prudently used,” said the former Mukurwe-ini MP.
He has been on a spirited campaign to convince Nyeri voters that he is the best bet to fight corruption, protect devolution, represent the underprivileged and the oppressed.
Kabando is battling it with among others, UDA’s Wahome Wamatinga, Jubilee’s Priscilla Nyokabi and DP’s Wambugu Nyamu.
