Foundation assists Laikipia East semi-arid area in afforestation

A foundation based in Laikipia County has  continued to assist local community in addressing climate change phenomenon by planting trees.

Ndegwa Mwangi Foundation has been donating various species of tree to the local community based in Laikipia East Sub-County in a bid to increase forest cover in the area.

The foundation founder and chairman said they have so far planted thousands of trees in the area.

He said the foundation,  named after him wanted to systematically change the area whether condition by ensuring its forest cover is increased.

” We are out to embrace tree plantation in this area and ensure we change the whether as a way of kicking out hunger ” said Ndegwa Mwangi at Ndaiga Umande ward in Laikipia East constituency.

The founder who is contesting the area parliamentary seat on The New Democrats (TND) party said he was optimistic that the local electorate will support his bid in order to continue assisting them.
