Kirinyaga Senator Charles Kibiru says he is the best bet that the county residents can rely on for prosperity.
Kibiru who is the Jubilee party governor position candidate is optimistic that the voters in his home county will support his bid to be the third county’s Chief Executive Officer.
Speaking yesterday during a morning show at Inooro TV, Kibiru outlined various issues he hopes to address once the local electorate give him the mandate during the August 9 General Election.
Kibiru was hosted alongside Nyeri gubernatorial candidate Economist Peter Munyiri by journalists Nderitu Waihura and Michael Njenga.
He said he had the expertise, experience and educational background that is required for the position.
Kibiru said he had come up with ‘Peoples manifesto’ which he hoped to utilise for the benefit of all Kirinyaga residents, investors and visitors.
He notes that having served in the Senate where he is the chairman of Finance and Budget committee, he had the required knowledge that would help him diligently serve his people.
Kibiru’s leadership will be made easier by the fact that his running mate, Peter Ndambiri is the current Deputy Governor and thus has the uch needed experience.
The Senator said his first priority on assuming office will be to streamline the health sector which he noted is wanting and address the plight of farmers in various sectors.
Further, he revealed, his government will seek ways of reviving and initiating various industries as a way of increasing farmers income and creating employment.
Kibiru said he will also ensure that corrupt activities that siphon public resources was a thing of the past.
In his quest to be the next governor, Kibiru is battling it with the first county governor Joseph Ndathi who is contesting on The Service Party (TPS), the Incumbent Ann Waiguru of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the current Women Representative Wangui Ngirichi who is running as an Independent candidate.
