Charles Kibiru outlines his vision for Kirinyaga County as he seek locals support

Kirinyaga County gubernatorial candidate on Jubilee ticket Charles Kibiru says he has grans plans of changing the status of his constituents once is elected as the next governor.
Kibiru says he is best suited to lead the county due to among other things the experience as the area Senator for the last five years.
Over the weekend, the Senator traversed the county explaining his manifesto to the local people where he met people who eke a living from different sectors, like tea, coffee horticulture, rice and businesses.
In his manifesto which he has dubbed “Pamoja Tuhuishe Kirinyaga”, Senator Kibiru has drafted far reaching proposal that he says will positive implications to the Kirinyaga people.
Some of these include a proposal to modernise agriculture and restore cooperative sector by reengineering governance and expanding market access of produce in the country and beyond.
He also hopes to launch ‘Fukuza Njaa’ program in order to increase agricultural output through addressing challenges that hinder farmers’ productivity like access to inputs and ready market.
Under business, Kibiru who will be deputised by the current Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri has plans of collaborating with the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry to assist businesses community in expanding their trade.
He also intends to establish new and help in expanding existing industries in the area so as to help in absorbing graduates from TVETs and other institutions.
In his tours, Kibiru further explained that he intends to establish an endowment fund that will be offering scholarships. Also in his pipeline are plans to a healthcare program that will be geared towards easing treatment burden to the locals.
Kibiru will be battling for the gubernatorial seat with among others, the incumbent Ann Waiguru who is defending on UDA ticket, the former area Joseph Ndathi and area Women Representative Wangui Ngirichi.
